I have decided to release Mailpuccino's source code (under the terms of the GPL License) primarily because I'd like very much for Mailpuccino to improved, refined and new features to be added. However, I am currently no longer able to commit the time needed to update Mailpuccino as regularly as I would love to, so I've decided to engage the help of other programmers like you. Make no mistake, I did not "Open Source" Mailpuccino to make it buzzword compliant or whatsoever.
Mailpuccino is one of the best, if not the best Java Email Client available. It has been rated "Top 5%" by JARS, and given a top rating of 5 COWS by TUCOWS. Besides, it's free. If you contribute to the development effort, due acknowledgement will also be given. Your efforts will directly benefit many users. You will be proud that you contributed to this effort.
Here's how:
You should have some prior Java Programming experience, have the patience to read and understand other people's code, and be able and willing to collaborate with other developers. Obviously, Java novices shouldn't treat this as some kind of programming exercise.
