My previous homepage was in fact bascially something I churned out in the midst of a chicken-pox attack in December 1996. If not for my horrible luck to get this absolutely gross virus attack, I really don't know if I would have the patience to create my previous homepage. Anyhow, my previous homepage (which I've kept on-line here anyway, for posterity's sake !) solicited an overwhelming response which completely bowled me over. I guess most of the traffic was a spill-over from my Q&A Service (which unleashed a flood of Emails on me, thank you very much !), but it was simply fantastic watching my hit-counter soar, which peaked at about 10 hits per day for a couple of months ! (Yes, the thousands of hits displayed in my homepage's hit-counter are for real) I actually hope to elicit even more response with this homepage, not from the Q&A Service though (!!! *Sorry* for being so frank here... but please, feel free to post your questions anyway
Well, other than computers, another one of my pet interests is cycling. This is something I *must* thank my elder brother very much though, who bought the very handsome and fantastic bicycle which I now use at least twice a week. Nothing comes close to the absolutely exhilarating feeling of the blast of air stroking your cheeks as your step on the pedals while racing down a slope (it's even better when it's raining, as I've experienced on some occasions... !) But of course, Singapore's cycling landscape leaves much to be desired, and I've loftier dreams of cruising on the slopes of craggy snow-capped mountains or some big lake in the future...
For those that are interested in digging into my past.... my first Primary school (which is no more, unfortunately, it was closed down some years ago) was Sembawang Hills Estate Primary School. Ha ! Sounds pretty.... "out of this world" huh ? Pardon the name, I will dearly hold on to the scant memories I have of this place forever. It's an awful pity I've lost touch with all but one of my ex-classmates. My other Primary school (from P.5 to P.6) was Anglo-Chinese Primary School. (I studied at its old premises at Fort Canning) Thereafter, I enrolled into the The Chinese High School for secondary education in the Special/Express stream. On reflection, I must add that my four years in Chinese High changed my life forever. It was in these four faithful years that I delved into the fast-track realm of computer technology. In my last year in Chinese High, I also represented Singapore in the SEARCC (South East Asian Regional Computer Confederation) ISC (International Software Competition) 1996. My team ended up in second place, after Indonesia (which was firmly anchored in first place for a couple of years already, thanks to a whiz-kid !
Ok, so where am I right now ? Actually, after my four years in Chinese High, I predictably entered a crazy place called Hwa Chong Junior College. 1998 will be my second and final year here ! *phew*.... now you can proceed to other sections of my homepage, while I take a breather....
